Is my SVG a real vector?
Drop the SVG on this page. The checker reads it in your browser, without uploading it, and tells you whether it is made of shapes or is a picture wrapped in SVG tags, how many paths and points it has, which colors are near-duplicates, and whether it holds live text or effects a printer may not reproduce.

It is read in your browser and not uploaded.
How can an SVG file still be pixels?
An SVG may contain a picture: an <image> tag with a PNG or JPEG inside. The file opens, has the right extension and looks fine on screen, but it is still pixels: it blurs when enlarged, a cutter finds no outline in it, and the printer asks again. Ask ChatGPT to turn an image into an SVG and this is one of the files it may give you (why).
What does the checker look at?
- Pictures inside the file (embedded or linked), with their size in pixels.
- Paths and shapes, and the number of path segments (points between curves and lines).
- Every fill and stroke color, and which ones are so close they read as one.
- Live text (it needs the font on the printer’s computer), gradients, filters and transparency.
It reads the file as text, so it describes what is written in it; how a design program draws masks or symbols can differ.
What if it finds a picture inside?
- Press "Convert the image inside": the picture opens in the SVGProof editor (only then is it sent to our server, like any upload).
- Compare the vector with the original, zoomed in; remove the background or merge colors if you need to.
- Download the result as SVG, EPS, AI and PDF.
Converting, comparing and editing are free and need no account; a PNG up to 512 px is free too. The SVG and full-size PNG of one logo cost one credit ($10 buys 25).
How many points should a logo have?
There is no single right number, but a flat logo of a few shapes and a wordmark usually needs hundreds to a few thousand segments. Above 5,000 the trace has probably followed noise and anti-aliasing: the file is slow to edit, and edges can come out wobbly when cut or scaled.
When is SVGProof the wrong tool?
- Repairing a file: the checker only reports. For a clean vector, convert the original image instead.
- PDF, EPS and AI files: it reads SVG only. Ask your printer for their own preflight check of those.
Questions
Is my file uploaded?
No. The checker runs in your browser and the file is not sent anywhere. Only a picture you choose to convert with "Convert the image inside" goes to our server, like any upload.
Does a good result mean the logo is print-ready?
It means the file is made of shapes. Still look at it zoomed in and check sizes, colors and bleed with your printer: see the preflight checklist.
Can I paste SVG code instead of a file?
Yes. Paste the code into the box under the drop zone, for example the SVG code an AI assistant wrote for you.
